Alex Koleva is a senior at Perkiomen Valley High School. She is involved in various activities including multiple AP classes, clubs, and select music ensembles.
“I’ve been to Disney before, once when I was still in elementary school, but I haven’t been back since. It costs a lot of money to go on the trip, and I really would prefer to spend that money on a summer in Europe, rather than just a few days at Disney. I did some research and the money for this trip equals a round trip ticket to Bulgaria for the entire summer. I would love to go to Disney with my friends, but the cost is not feasible for me right now. If the senior trip was somewhere closer and less expensive, I might have considered going, but it really comes down to price. I know some people might go to other places instead of Disney, but my mom would never let me miss school. That’s alright since only some of my friends are going so I won’t be completely alone in school when everyone is gone. My classes will be basically empty since so much of the senior class is going on the trip, which will make the day more lonely. Since so many people are gone I hope we won’t be doing as much work, and then I can use it to catch up on everything. I do wish I could’ve gone as when I was in elementary school it was something I had always wanted to do. But, it is only one event during my year and now I can focus on reaching other events like career study and graduation!”
