Winter Showcase: The Arts of PV

Junior Irina Koleva, with the help of COMMotion and many of her friends, recently organized a winter showcase along with an art display for her senior project, amazing all who attended this fun event.

With around 60 people showing up to support this event, the winter showcase was a certain success.

The show was put together in less then two weeks, and the COMMotion team (Irina Koleva, RJ Craig, Rachel Canigiani, and Priya Ganesh) plans to organize future events such as this one.

The showcase itself was a wonderful display of a variety of art forms such as acting, dancing, singing, and poetry, along with visual art. Using extra and leftover pieces from the fall play, the construction crew managed to change the stage into an artistic paradise. The art show during intermission sold many great paintings and showcased advanced and well-drawn pieces of art.

The organizers were quite thankful to the artists who drew and painted these pictures, helping the overall art showcase.

“I would say that this showcase was majorly successful. In terms of finances,  we paid back the cost of production twice fold and donated the rest of the money to the Drama Club. But the real prize is the closely-knit community – the family – that we created. The entire cast and crew joined together, putting their all into the show, creating something inspiring out of the passion they held for the arts. And that’s what ultimately made the showcase a success,” said Irina Koleva, the director of the showcase.

Overall, the winter art showcase was a successful function, and hopefully a similar event occurs soon.
