Softball Senior Night 2019

On May 8th, the Perkiomen Valley varsity softball team had their senior night game against rival Spring-Ford.  It was a beautiful day, and both teams came prepared to play a hard game.

The seniors from Perk Valley include Ashley Bangert, Deanna Cusumano, Jess Cusumano, Sela Fusco, Katie Hurd, Katie McGowan, and Jordan Sell.

“Our senior class has been a key part of our team”, said head coach Joe Bogus, “They will be missed.”

So far, the team has had a very successful season.  They have a 12-8 record, and are playing in playoff games.  However, the senior night game was not a good night for the girls.  They played Spring-Ford, their rival and the only undefeated team in the PAC. The first time they played this team, the girls lost 8-0.  This time was worse, with the game ending early and a loss of 10-0.

The girls played with integrity and determination despite the hard loss.  Fans turned out in large numbers to support the team and cheer them on.

Even with the loss, the softball team made playoffs and continued to fight for their spot at the top.

The seniors had been with the program all four years, and have amazing memories to take with them to college.
