The National Martin Luther King Holiday of Service was taken very seriously at PV as the High School cafeteria hosted a fundraiser for the high school along with assisting Australian animals with escaping the raging wildfires.
A volunteer, Ben Allan, spoke about his experience at the fundraiser running a snack stand for other volunteers doing separate activities and getting donations. Allan also mentioned how he, “walked around the cafeteria to see if any of the other volunteers needed help.”
This involved making sure his snack stand was continually stocked throughout the entire event and acting as a makeshift janitor and supervisor picking up trash to ensure children and adults attending didn’t slip and hurt themselves.
Thankfully no one was hurt and the fundraiser was a success for the predicted amount of money desired.
