Outside the Sidelines

With the heart of football season around the corner, it’s time to hear some of the boldest predictions that analysts can spit out. We would like to join the best with some of our own predictions on the NFL’s 100th season. We have what some may say are “hot” takes, with the belief that the Oakland Raiders will slide into the AFC playoff picture under the leadership of coaching legend Jon Gruden. Our second bold prediction falls in the AFC east, in Buffalo, New York. We believe that for only the second time in the last 15 years we will see the Bills play a playoff game behind their young quarterback, Josh Allen.

What, why or how may be running through your head as you read. Let’s look into it. Last year, Oakland was one of the NFL’s worst teams. With no pass rushers, Oakland was gashed on the defensive side of the ball and they were just unable to respond with the points needed. Through all the drama in the offseason the Raider’s GM, Mike Mayock was able to fill the holes that were exploited in the 2018 season.

Buffalo raises questions all over the field, especially on the offensive side of the ball. We believe those questions will be answered in 2019 with an offense that won’t blow you away, but will get the job done. The defense is solid enough so that on most days the offense won’t need to score more than 24 points which is more than doable for the Josh Allen lead Buffalo offense.

We believe we will see both the Raiders and Bills slide in to the 2019 playoff picture.
